Palazzo Villa Pernice

This villa was already in the 18th century and belonged to the Zanatti family and then to the Counts Rovida. In 1860 his owner, Angelo Villa Pernice, was elected first mayor of the Kingdom of Italy in Concorezzo. Neoclassical in style and U-shaped plan, the central part is one floor higher than its sides. On the facade you can see the typical stringcourse and the shaped soffit, as well as the modular arrangement of the rectangular windows. The landscaped back garden has disappeared to leave room for ample parking and some buildings. The villa is historically important because on 11 June 1859, during the Second War of Independence, it hosted the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II and General Cialdini, marching towards Solferino and San Martino.
